Well my buddy over at LukeHackney.com recently redesigned one of his friends websites. This just isn’t any friend, however. Luke happens to know Robert Matheu personally. 

Who’s Robert Matheu  you ask? A famous music photographer who’s snapped the likes of the Ramones, Iggy Pop, Keith Richards, Johnny Cash and the MC5, and many others.

Take a look at Rob’s site, and click around a bit. You might notice some of his more famous work!

Browsing the net I had a chance to run across an up an up adn coming writer, and read one of her short stories.

She asked if I could comment on what I read, and I said I would be happy to.

The story I read was located at Before I am Famous and it was entitled Who Killed Amber-Lynne?

After giving it a quick read, I have to say i’m impressed. At first, i’ll be honest, it seemed like your regular run of the mill short story about an unsolved murder.

There was little character development at first, but you slowly became attached to the main character Peyton, and felt sorry for her.

I liked how that struck a cord emotionally, and as the story continued I tried to imagine what exactly would happen.

The way it was written, however, didn’t really allow me to do that, which I think is a good thing. Usually with stories like these you can guess what’s coming next.

When the character Rachel was introduced, I thought nothing of it. It was very well executed.

I won’t ruin the ending for you, but give it a read and let her know what you think!

There are a few other stories in the story list category that you should all take a look at.

So I stumbled on a new site today called rssHugger.com. This site promotes blogs and a blog community via rss feeds. A very cool spot where bloggers can get some serious exposure, and where visitors can have access to anything that they are interested in. I just signed up for an account, and hope to be listed soon, but had to post about how great I think this idea is.

The site is put together very nicely, and its extremely easy to use. Registration was simple, and I didn’t even have to confirm my username –> score! I hate doing that.

It seems like a very community oriented site, which is right up my alley. I look forward to being approved soon!

So I came across this site called SimplyParker.com and I absolutely loved it. I even added them to my blogroll on the right.

These guys have some really funny designs! Plus their site is really easy to navigate. They even have girls shirts (tight fitted ladies shirts) that I can get as gifts for my sister and other lady friends.

The designs are pretty funny and vintage. They have some of my favorite Nickelodeon shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark, Salute Your Shorts, and even some Double Dare shirts! They even have a Bill Nye the Science Guy ladies shirt!! That was my favorite part of science class.

About 6 months ago a work friend told me to visit www.woot.com and take a look. What an amazing day that was.

For those of you who are not familiar with Woot, they offer amazing tech deals at usually super discounted rates for members only. Best part: Membership is free!

For example: A brand new i-Trip for your i-Pod… I’ve seen it retail for about $79.99… Woot was able to provide their users with brand new ones for $19.99! What a steal.

They put up a new product every day. One product per day. Once they run out, you’re out of luck.

Once in a while, they’ll have a “woot off”; this is where they take all their overstock items (still really good stuff) and put them up in a one-after-another style. Once they run out of a certain item, they’ll put the next one up right away. These usually last a few days, and the prices are cut even lower during these time periods.

They have also coined a great term for a product they offer: The bag of crap. This is a $1″bag”that you purchase. In this bag, you will receive one item. Sometimes its from the woot off, sometimes its not. Usually  you’ll get a handful of items, some great, and some just plain funny.
