The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor poster

Alright, so i’m not sure how many of you feel about Brendan Fraser. Sure, he was great in Encino man, Blast from the Past, and all those other oldies.. But i’d have to say my favorite BFrase movies would have to be the Mummy series.

Only problem is, this movie is being directed by Rob Cohen, who (among some solid hits like Fast and the Furious and XXX) directed Stealth. Hopefully the’ll be some solid comedy infused in this, mimicking all of the previous Mummy installments.

The fact that Jet Li is in it could swing it either way… Romeo must die anyone?

Anyway, check out the new poster! This is set to hit the theaters Aug. 1st this summer. I’ll post the trailer as soon as the agonizingly slow studio releases it.

Hancock Extended Trailer and Poster

Well, yet another super hero movie is on its way to theaters near you.. But wait, this super hero drinks.. heavily.

Will Smith is Hancock, and this is not your ordinary super hero movie. Take a look at the trailer, I honestly don’t think it looks that bad! Almost entertaining right?

And as always here’s the high res poster of will smith’s beard for the moviehancock

Tom Izzo to the Bulls?

Simply put, it’s not going to happen.

For those of you who don’t know the backstory, Yahoo Sports put out an article within the last few days stating that Rick Carlisle (former Pistons coach) and the Spartans own Tom Izzo are the two front runners for the vacant bulls head coaching position.

The article went on to say that Izzo seems “restless” in east lansing, and had a few quotes (which were obviously taken out of context) about Izzo saying he “would listen to anyone’s offer”.

Well for those of you who don’t know, that’s just Izzo being Izzo. He likes to talk off the top of his head a lot, and this is the same stuff they were saying when Kentucky and Indiana came calling.

Izzo did state that the NBA is something he sees as the next hurdle, but I don’t think he’ll leave now. Here’s why:

a.) Final Four next year in detroit

b.) Delvon Roe, top 10 rated player, steps foot in the Breslin center to play this season

c.) Kalin Lucas - the fastest player Izzo’s had since who knows when.

d.) The addition of Nix out of pershing. He’s a Huge presence on the inside and is a banger, something Izzo’s been missing since Al Anagonye

e.) Izzo is god in East Lansing - literally (that’s for you Luke, obviously not literally). He even has billboards around the middle of the state that say simply “Thank you, Tom” with a picture of a basketball. HIS OWN BILLBOARDS!

f.) He turned down the Atlanta Hawks after winning a national championship

g.) He also turned down the Raptors interest as well

h.) He said no to Kentucky and Indiana. Supposedly he was on board for Kansas, but thats just Izzo-is-leaving rumors.

So there you have it folks, Tom Izzo IS michigan state basketball, and he is NOT going anywhere.

College Trailer (2008)

Another school comedy has hit hollywood and this one looks interesting.

The name: College (original, right?!)

Basically, a few high school kids road trip it to a local college where they experience all that is good in life… until the fraternity they are at starts messing with them.

The trailer wasn’t the best, but I guess i’m spoiled after watching Superbad and laughing so hard I cried.

This movie has a relatively unknown director and new to the scene writers who wanted to make a college comedy with girls taking their tops off left and right for no reason. Well, here it is (Work Safe trailer, don’t worry).

The Strangers trailer and new poster

What is it about people with burlap sacks on their face that scares the crap out of me? haha.

Hollywood has done it again with this project entitled The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman.

Basically, i’m sure you can tell the backstory already: A couple is messed with at their “secluded” vacation home by a few strangers in crazy masks.

I was initially skeptical, and then I saw the trailer and the new poster. Definitely excited to see this!

Check out the new poster as well! Definitely creepy.strangers

The Wackness trailer (2008)

The new summer indie hit has released its teaser trailer! If you haven’t heard of The Wackness, it’s definitely something you need to look into.

Before I give too much away, check out the trailer below! This definitely looks like a summer hit, and I for one can’t wait to see it.

Be sure to check out the poster too; you’ll definitely be hearing about this flick more and more as summer is upon us (thank god!)

Tennessee Football Knee Injury

Horrible knee injury sidelines Tennessee starting fullback in spring practice.

Disclaimer: This picture is tough for the squeamish to handle.

How do you come back from an injury like this? That’s just rough folks. This is worse than that boxer who kicks his opponent and his leg snaps.

The fact that it’s high resolution too doesn’t help much. Click on the picture below to see the blown up version. OUCH.

Congrats Kevin VerHulst and Shelby Newman

Looks like we lost another one to the dark side.. Jusssst kidding guys:) Congrats on the big engagement news!

Looks like the summer of 2009 is already shaping up to be a crazy one, with a few of my weekends spent in Michigan for weddings.

Phil and Roxy get married this June, as to John and Melissa. Then we have Chris and Jen in September…

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know who didn’t know, and say congratulations one more time!

Tom Crean hired as Indiana Basketball Coach

Making yet another connection with Michigan State Basketball, Indiana Basketball has signed Tom Crean (formerly at Western Kentucky, Pittsburgh and Michigan State) as their new head coach.

Crean has a well known reputation of running an extremely clean basketball program from top to bottom, and has well behaved disciplined players, both items that Indiana has been striving for since the Kelvin Sampson Fiasco.

Do I think this is a good move by IU? Yes.

Am I more worried about them as an opponent now? Yes.

Crean was the one person I wanted to have once Tom Izzo retired. Hopefully, this IU job is just somewhere he can prove himself some more until Tom is ready to hand over the reigns.

In the mean time, expect the gentleman’s agreement between Izzo and Crean of not recruiting the same players to wash away, as the Big Ten is a battle ground.
